2            tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
3            cloves garlic, minced
2             medium onion, chopped
2            bay/eaves
1            can Italian plum tomatoes, 28 ounces
2            tablespoons tomato paste
2            tablespoons oregano, chopped
2            tablespoons basil, chopped
1/2         teaspoon  sugar
1/2         teaspoon  hot pepper flakes
salt and pepper, to taste

Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan..

Add the garlic and onion cook until garlic golden brown.

Stir in the rest of the ingredients. Bring the sauce to a slow boil and reduce the heat to low. Let the marinara sauce simmer for about 10 minutes.

Note: This meatless sauce is good with vegetables, fish, pasta, and pizza. It freezes well.
